McKibben honored by Utne, again

Bill McKibben is a local boy, as far as I’m concerned. He may be a renowned essayist, conservationist and founder of 350.org, the international movement working to reverse global warming, but for NCPR, he’s a guy we met about 25 years ago when his primary residence was in Johnsburg, in the Gore Mountain region. He and his wife, Sue Halpern–another fine writer, nagged us until we finally put together a plan and the funds to purchase and install our Gore Mountain transmitter.

With the publication of his latest book, Eaarth, and his work with 350.org, he is again being honored by Utne magazine as a “visionary.” If you’re curious about the work being done by 350.org, check it out here.
