Morning Read: Republicans ask if Paladino is too angry

This from the New York Times:

Nowhere was the debate more intense than among the fellow Republicans whose political fortunes are tied to Mr. Paladino’s in November.

Already wrestling with how tightly to embrace Mr. Paladino, who is also the Tea Party-backed candidate, they found themselves newly divided, and some appeared to distance themselves from his behavior while clinging to his message.

It’s hard for me to take seriously any article which speaks of Palidinos “near physical confrontation” when the reporter was in his face just as much as Palidino was in the reporters.

Yeah, Palidino is a firecracker. No doubt, not a polished political candidate. But I agree with his platform and in truth, what is the alternative? A polished and bred career politician from a political family. Didn’t we get enough of that with Bush?

It should be interesting but I do really wish reporters and candidates would focus on the issues.

  3. BRFVolpe says:

I hope Mr. Paladino doesn’t think that becoming governor is going to be therapy for his rage.

Okay I admit that I liked him better than Lazio for a true alternative, at first.

But you know if you want to go muckraking about Cuomo and his affairs or non affairs and want to call Patterson a druggie, well guess what people are going to look into your life.

Now I think it is horrible that anyone bothered this little girl of his I think she is like 10 yo and they are bothering her, I would be really upset about that so I understand him being really upset, mad enraged whatever. But the fact is he went down this path of personal stuff first, given his past he should have known everything about his life would also come out.

A politican’s children should be off limits. Unless, of course, the politician can use them for a photo-op. But, after that, the children are off-limits again. Similar to the manner that Pres. Obama’s young daughters have been handled.

As far as the other stuff, I am with Mervel. If you are gonna throw snowballs, you better know how to catch them, too.

Mr. Paladino does not have the temperament to be the leader of New York State. I watched scores of politicians publicly humiliated, attacked, defamed, cursed at and physically threatened in the name of public discourse all last summer in the so-called ‘Town Hall Meetings’. I am sure that many of them would liked to have shouted right back at their tormentors, but it’s not in the job description. Why was it ok when it was a member of congress, Democrat, Republican, Independent, but suddenly we are supposed to have all of this understanding for a candidate who has written the script on rants, threats, false allegations, etc? Sorry, CArl, but as the old saying goes,”If ya can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen”.
