Tonight’s “battle of the unbeatens” in Mineville

Lou Reuter has a great story in this afternoon’s Adirondack Daily Enterprise about the showdown tonight in Mineville between the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Moriah Vikings.

Both high school football squads are unbeaten so far in regular-season play; both are ranked in the Top 10 statewide; and only one of them can survive this Friday night match-up with a perfect record.

“This is awesome,” said first-year Red Storm head coach Eric Bennett. “Linney Field on Friday night, on the final week of the regular season. Two unbeaten teams going at it. How can you beat that?

I plan to be there, so I’ll give a quick blog recap in tomorrow’s sports edition of the In Box.  To hear an audio postcard about the Red Storm squad, go here.
