Widespread power outages reported. What are you seeing?

The wind is really whipping here in Saranac Lake.  We’ve had a half-dozen short-term power outages through the early afternoon.

The Plattsburgh Press-Republican is reporting that St. Regis Falls closed down its school because of the blackouts.

Indian Lake and Long Lake were hardest hit, with 1,180 homes without power. Widespread outages that impacted 80 customers were also noted in both Willsboro and Wilmington, he said.

Also this from the Glens Falls Post Star.

Police reported an outage among National Grid customers in Queensbury in the area of Regency Park Apartments after tree branches downed lines.

I couldn’t get through to National Grid’s website for more detailed information. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting that Whiteface Mountain closed down due to the high winds.

National Grid’s website shows small outages throughout the towns of Harrietstown, Brighton and Franklin. The largest one, with 392 customers affected according to National Grid, was up and down county Route 60 in Rainbow Lake and Onchiota. National Grid estimated that power would be restored to all of the affected locations by late morning or early afternoon.

Anyone seeing anything interesting out there weather-wise?  Tell us about it in the comments section.
