It’s Election Day! Polls are open until 9 p.m. To find a polling place near you and  read up on regional races and key issues, check out NCPR’s Election Day Cheat Sheet. Here are lists of polling places by county:   St Lawrence, Jefferson, Essex, Franklin, Clinton, and Hamilton and Lewis. And stay tuned to NCPR’s Election Page, were we’ll provide updates and results.

3 Akwesasne men, plus another man from Georgia, are on trial in U.S. District Court in Albany this week. The Albany Times-Union reports that they’re charged with running an illegal casino on the reservation.

Lake George is getting a full physical. The Jefferson Project, a multimillion dollar, 3 year endeavor to monitor the lake’s health, starts this week.

The neglected horses seized by Essex County earlier this fall are now ready for adoption, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican reports.

Allegiant Air will now fly non-stop from Burlington, VT to Orlando, Florida — another route to escape North Country winters!
