Addie Russell won’t seek NY21 seat

New York State Assemblywoman Addie Russell isn’t seeking the NY21 congressional seat currently held by Bill Owens (Watertown Daily Times). Russell didn’t submit paperwork due earlier this week to the district’s Democratic Party; she says her main concern is being as effective as possible for her constituents.

The 21st District Democratic Party has said it’ll have an announcement of support for a candidate within the next week or so; later today, the Republican part is expected to make its endorsement. We’ll have that when we know!
