St. Lawrence County gets $185,000 to prevent terrorism

St. Lawrence County’s Office of Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Department will get $185,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to “assist in terrorism prevention,” North Country Now is reporting. Here’s how that breaks down: $138,750 will go to Emergency Services, with the remaining $46,250 going to the Sheriff’s Department. No info yet on how the money will be spent. Money not spent this fiscal year will stay with Emergency Services and the Sheriff’s Department to be used later.

Waste of money. But then they should spread the waste around, so St Lawrence County should get a little.

Knuck, it reminds me of a great New Yorker cartoon where the old couple is sitting on the porch of their farmhouse. The husbands is telling his wife that it looks like the concrete bomb barriers (surrounding the house) are working.!!

Let’s spend that money on a real local threat. I’d like to see a deer-proof fence built around the Village of Potsdam.

Maybe they can find a used Bookmobile somewhere or some second-hand HumVees…

For the entire month of April 2014 the CO2 level in spaceship Earths’ atmosphere averaged above 400 parts per million (PPM), the highest levels since before our pre-human ancestor were knuckle walking across the savannas of Africa, and the average rate of increase was about 2.1 PPM per year (it was about 0.7 PPM in the 1950’s). Those are two facts that humans should really be terrified about, rather than the marketing brainwashing war on terrorism con jobs employed by the Powers That Be (PTB) to keep the sheeple blatting, cowering and giving up their rights, freedom and money so that the 1% can further enrich themselves under the pretext of providing “safety” for the masses.

Wasn’t it Ben Franklin that said “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”? Good advice, but we don’t (and won’t) do it that way. We refuse to curb our use of fossil fuels. Instead we’ll build higher seawalls to keep out the flood, bigger gates to keep out the poor, and bigger guns to keep out the angry, hungry, and oppressed. When the climate changes we’ll build in different places. When the rains fail, we’ll build bigger pipelines. When the crops fail, we’ll use more and stronger chemicals, and when the fuel for it all becomes scarce, we’ll find a new ways to rape the planet. Every bit of this terrible cost will be squeezed from the lives of the people, and when they resist….when they say ENOUGH!……………. We’ll label them as terrorists.
