Here's something to mull over this weekend. We're looking for a farmer, large or small, to write blog entries – more like journal entries – here on The Dirt to document the ebbs and flows of the growing season.

This would entail sending your posts to me at least once a week, with a photo to accompany each post.

We understand it's a ridiculously busy time for farmers, but if you can squeeze out a few minutes a week, you'll be a valued part of The Dirt this summer, and get some exposure as well.

If you're interested, please e-mail me at david-at-ncpr-dot-org.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I am sure you have lots of volunteers to do this but if you still need someone I would be game. I am a seventh generation St lawrence county farmer. My operation is small. I produce lambs, maple syrup, hay, and blueberries.
My comment on this summer so far is, "Cold wet May, barn full of hay. " It sure looks like that will be the case this year. The hay is extra thick. Now we just need some sun and dry weather to get it in the barn.
