A new feature of All In–a weekly recommendation for a new cd or book or movie…maybe more frequently if others pipe in.
My pick this week is Willie Nelson’s most recent release, COUNTRY MUSIC. It’s a terrific back-to-the-basics collection of tunes like “Dark as a Dungeon” and “Nobody’s Fault But Mine.” Produced by T-Bone Burnett with a collection of great musicians including Buddy Miller, Chris Sharp, Jim Lauderdale, and other topnotch studio players. It’s on the Rounder label, catalogue #3280.
Here’s Willie performing “Dark as a Dungeon” from Youtube.
All In is a place for everyone who works at NCPR to share behind the scenes activity, and surprising, curious, lovely or distinctly local tidbits from our travels around the region. We’ll post the best of what we find online, too. From time to time, you may hear from others—if you’d like to write an entry, send it to [email protected]. What makes this place what it is? How do we connect to each other and the world? That’s what ALL IN is all about.
