Everything changes, and stays the same

In the picture below, the little fellow on the horse is now almost 40. He just sent me this photographic relic: “no nukes, safe energy” march along a north country road, almost 35 years ago. We’re still talking about safe energy, aren’t we? No recent anti-nuke marches here, but the conversation is still the same: what do we have to do to reduce, reuse and recycle the resources we draw from our planet?
But times have changed in one way: so many people are thinking and talking about our energy use in a way that was reserved for just a few “fringe” thinkers 35 years ago. What’s your best idea for how to conserve or re-use energy? And, if you recognize the location of the photo above, let me know. I’m stumped.
