New autumn tradition

In yesterday’s post, I told you about our neighborhood pepper roast–an autumn tradition out my way. Today, something about a relatively new tradition, the annual fall Buddy Walk designed to raise awareness about Down Syndrome. My buddy, Steve Sauter, helps organize the event and participates each year. Here’s a link to Steve’s tv appearance earlier this week–promoting this Saturday’s Buddy Walk. It takes place at the Potsdam High School, with registration at 1:00 pm, and a starting time of 2:00 pm.

And if you missed Steve in an earlier blog entry, performing at the national Down Syndrome conference this summer, check it out now.

So, I’ve given you the Great Northern Pepper Roast and the Buddy Walk. What have you got going on for autumn?

  1. Jackie Sauter says:

Buddy Walks to promote awareness about Down Syndrome take place all across North America each year. Most of the other 2010 walks in other counties in the NCPR coverage area have already happened but you can find out more on the National Down Syndrome Society website: http://www.buddywalk.org/get-involved/find-a-walk-near-you/walks-by-state.html?state=NY

And to see a creative, fun and very informative video about Down syndrome, I highly recommend this: http://www.ndsccenter.org/morealike/flash/

Everyone is invited to come walk with us in Potsdam this Saturday. Hope to see you there!
