For years I’ve associated this song with winter solstice, cold times in the north. Just came across this extraordinary version, with Dylan looking so young. Perhaps it is the simplicity of the song that moves me. What music touches you at this time of year?
All In is a place for everyone who works at NCPR to share behind the scenes activity, and surprising, curious, lovely or distinctly local tidbits from our travels around the region. We’ll post the best of what we find online, too. From time to time, you may hear from others—if you’d like to write an entry, send it to [email protected]. What makes this place what it is? How do we connect to each other and the world? That’s what ALL IN is all about.
Thanks, Ellen
I knew when I first heard him that he was special and I’ve come to believe he is the best poet of the last half of the 1900’s.
I had the good fortune to hear him get booed by the folkies when he went electric and played at Forest Hills.
Smartest move he ever made.
By the way, no, Bob does not have a great voice but no one sings his songs better than he does.
Thanks, Ellen
