As I’ve listened to stories about the impact of flooding on homes across the region, and talked to some of the people whose dwellings are damaged and even destroyed, I’ve wondered how the rest of us can help.
Are there existing gathering points for donations of needed clothing, household goods?
Is there a clearinghouse for volunteer assistance, to help people clean up or move their household goods?
Your ideas? How could we advance some of those ideas–for those hurt by the current flooding situation, particularly on the shores of Lake Champlain and in areas of the Adirondacks like Keene Valley–as well as in the future when natural disasters hurt our friends and neighbors?
