Favorite 47: Album picks from 47 years at NCPR
by Jackie Sauter on December 14th, 2018
Hello Friends–
As I get ready to retire at the end of this month after 47 wonderful years at North Country Public Radio, I want to say thank you to everyone who’s been a part of Music for a Monday. seems like a very long time, but it’s gone by in a flash.
Thank you for listening, and for giving me the chance to share music I love with you. And there’s still so much music to share. So in no particular order, here’s a list of 47 of my favorite albums for you. Not necessarily the best in any category, but some of the ones I love the most. Some newish, some old but still sounding great. Maybe you recognize some of them from my show, maybe not. Enjoy. And thank you.
Love and hugs,
Jackie

Dear Jackie,
Congratulations on your retirement from NCPR. And commiserations from someone who knows what it ‘s like to leave a position of authority. I wish you all the best life has to offer. And thanks for the recommendations of the Albums. We all appreciate the work you’ve put in to help make NCPR the premier station that it has become. You will be missed!

Nice work, Jackie! Have a happy and healthy retirement! Your voice of kindness can’t be replaced. Come back to the mike for some substituting work! Thanks for the music favorites….some are mine too!
Thanks for the list and all the enjoyable hours of listening you have provided. Best of everything in your retirement.
I have to believe you are a major reason why NCPR is by far the best Public Radio station in the country, and one that I have supported faithfully. “Eclectic Excellence” in music, news, staff and features that I hope will continue in your well-deserved absence. Best wishes in your retirement!
Kevin
Hi Jackie, I’m thrilled to have 5 definite best album matches with you!! I do like many of the others. Now, thanks to you, my mission is to explore the others. First on the list? “Cecile”. Discovery!
Hi Jackie – I’ve always thought you had the best taste in music and always enjoyed your Monday PM show whenever I could catch it. I’m familiar and/or have many of the ones on your list but I am surprised that Emmylou Harris is not there. I think her Red Dirt Girl is very excellent.
Thanks for all the many hours of great listening! Enjoy your coming free time.
Disappointed that you didn’t include Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, though it is a woefully underrated album.
