In the Works at NCPR

Swiss Army Flash DriveWe’re always cooking up something new at ncpr.org. Now you can slip into the test kitchen and sample some new items in development:

Home page changes:
New dropdown navigation: menu items drop down from selection rather than make a second horizontal row. Should be easier to mouse around.
Headline “accordion”: Click a headline to get more text without leaving the page. Relieves that “brick-o-links” monotony.

New POTD Photo albums: Slideshow of the season automatically generated from Flickr service. Thumbnail navigation with show/hide caption feature.

New weather alerts maps: All the weather alerts from the National Weather Service and Environment Canada for our listening area. US alerts on a coded map.

New in the Test Bed:
Election 2010 Twitter module
: following the tags #ny23, #ny24, #ny20, #nygov and #nyag. Political news as it happens.
North Country Buzz: Follow all the media of the region via Twitter. News from more than thirty North Country and regional sources.
Adirondack Attic Module: The latest feature in the Adirondack Attic series by Andy Flynn, delivered via javascript to your website or blog.

Try them out and let us know what you think below.
