{"id":12481,"date":"2014-10-04T22:42:48","date_gmt":"2014-10-05T02:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/?p=12481"},"modified":"2014-10-04T22:42:48","modified_gmt":"2014-10-05T02:42:48","slug":"postcard-from-raleigh-bluegrass-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/2014\/10\/04\/postcard-from-raleigh-bluegrass-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Postcard from Raleigh: Bluegrass Awards!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greetings one last time from Raleigh, North Carolina! \u00a0The <a href=\"www.ibma.org\" target=\"_blank\">IBMA World of Bluegrass<\/a> week is wrapping up , and \u00a0tomorrow I&#8217;ll be driving home.<\/p>\n<p>The pinnacle of the week is the annual IBMA Music Awards show, held this year at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts. \u00a0 \u00a0Just 24 hours after bluegrass fans vacated the premises, the Raleigh Symphony performed on the same stage.<\/p>\n<p>I was lucky to get a sneak preview of the stage design and dress rehearsal. \u00a0In this photo, the all-star band is running through their performance for exact timing of the show, and awards presenters are practicing using the (very cool clear, almost-invisible) teleprompter. \u00a0Microphone heights are measured, so they&#8217;ll be reset perfectly for tonight&#8217;s show.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2014\/10\/pre-show.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12432\" alt=\"pre-show\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2014\/10\/pre-show-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2014\/10\/pre-show-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2014\/10\/pre-show-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lisa Husted -who also works for the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival &#8211;
