So, I must disclose this: I am a Yankees fan. Full on for the Bronx Bombers. And, unless you live in a sports-free vacuum, you know that Derek Jeter had his 3,000th hit on Saturday, joining a group of less than 30 players to ever achieve this. (Photo: Bob Ahlfeld)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>At the same time Scotty was having his picture taken (just before Jeter hit his 3000th), my son Jake and I were in Manhattan in a sports bar watching #2 hit the home run. Our tickets were for the next day (okay, secretly we were hoping Jeter had NO hits on Saturday so we&#8217;d be likely to see the 3K). This is a big deal. Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/07\/14\/nyregion\/sporting-goods-vendors-to-ease-yankees-fans-debts.html\">latest <\/a>on the story.
