The feeling of isolation and distance was quickly alleviated by finding NCPR while cruising about town. Canton and the North Country didn’t feel so different to me anymore, it felt normal.

When I was looking for work myself and got an interview with the station, I felt lucky, because I knew this place felt different, it felt special.

When I got the job, I was ecstatic.

My primary job is to assist the development team, to help June plan for the fundraiser or plan station events and I help Sandy with a variety of tasks working with our underwriting community. I like to also think of myself as a jack of all trades, helping out others around the office with whatever I can. You need business cards or new toner ordered, I’m your guy. You need help moving heavy equipment at a transmitter site, I’m your guy. You need a roadie going to a remote broadcast, I’m your guy

Canton is now where I happily live, but NCPR itself has really become a home for me. I love the people I work with and know how fortunate I am to see them every day.

If you are one of the countless people who live with Todd & Martha in the mornings, any one of the awesome music shows in the afternoons or make Saturday night jazz with Joel and Guy a priority, then please know that. . .

It’s Time to Give!

Thanks!
Jon Sklaroff

P.S. Don’t forget, everyone who donates is automatically entered into our fall prize drawings.
