A rockin\u2019, bluesy collection.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buddy Guy<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Born to Play Guitar<\/strong>\u201d\u2014Buddy has been putting out a new recording almost every year during the past decade. This is the latest. This is her latest. As usual, a mix of roots, folk, country, blues and gospel.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pokey LaFarge<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Something in the Water<\/strong>\u201d\u2014This guy hit the musical landscape big time during the past year. He has several earlier albums, all of them wonderfully musical. He has a one-of-a-kind voice that works perfectly for his style of swing, blues, rootsy music. Sounds like an escapee from the \u201830s and \u201840s.<\/li>\n<li><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-15745\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2015\/12\/ERIC-CLAPTON-banner-589.jpg\" alt=\"ERIC-CLAPTON-banner-589\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2015\/12\/ERIC-CLAPTON-banner-589.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2015\/12\/ERIC-CLAPTON-banner-589-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><strong>John Nemeth<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Memphis Grease<\/strong>\u201d\u2014John just keeps getting better as a blues, R&amp;B and roots singer. This is his best album yet.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Shemekia Copeland<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Outskirts of Love<\/strong>\u201d\u2014Shemekia keeps getting better and better, too. Her material is much more musically and lyrically interesting these days. I am a total groupie of this album.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jorma Kaukonen<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Ain\u2019t In No Hurry<\/strong>\u201d\u2014A mix of some old standards (e.g., \u201cNobody Knows You When You\u2019re Down and Out\u201d) and some interesting new material. Jorma is a great musician and singer.
