That&#39;s  Bill Gokey on banjo in the center front.  The other banjo player right behind Bill is Rich Williams.  Carter Houk and Al Worthen are also in this photo. Where are they?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We are looking for as much info as we can about the occasion, the people, etc.\u00a0 Can you help?\u00a0 Please feel\u00a0 free to comment below, or email me directly (barb@ncpr.org).<\/p>\n<p>How about that cowboy outfit?\u00a0 You never see matching shirts and cowboy boots around here anymore.\u00a0 Folks dressed up more in the \u201860s\u2026\u00a0 Even the waitress (whose backside and legs are on the right) is wearing stockings, heels, and an apron.\u00a0 Who is the fellow on the right with the tweed sport coat and hanky in the pocket?\u00a0 The woman in the back row looks upset with the guy\u00a0 on her right.\u00a0 I wonder why.\u00a0 Who is the fiddler on the far left?\u00a0 Who is the emcee behind the microphone?<\/p>\n<p>The Dekalb Hotel looked old \u2013 even then!\u00a0 This photo must have been taken in the winter, as the windows are frosted.\u00a0 \u00a0Of course, it\u2019s probably pretty warm in the bar after a night of music, drinking and dancing.\u00a0 Speaking of drinking, a couple folks in this photo look like they\u2019ve had a few.\u00a0 Maybe this is a \u2018late night\u2019 photo\u2026\u00a0 And look at all the smokers!\u00a0 You sure don\u2019t see that anymore!\u00a0 White socks sure were popular then, and men wore ties a lot more too\u2026. all kinds of ties.\u00a0 The guy sitting on the amp has rubbers on his shoes.\u00a0 \u00a0Are they still called rubbers?\u00a0 You know, in studying this photo, I realize that the one thing that HASN\u2019T changed over the decades are the instruments!\u00a0 Most of the ones in this photo are probably still around.\u00a0 Ev Smith told me his brother owns one of the banjos in this picture.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d love to hear from you if you know someone in this picture \u2013 or if you ARE someone in it!\u00a0 Did you hang out at the Dekalb Hotel?\u00a0 How about sharing some memories \u2013 fond or otherwise.\u00a0 I&#8217;d love to read about them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026.
