Here\u2019s a sampling of our holiday music and story programs airing through to New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

Friday, 12\/30<\/strong><\/h2>\n

2 to \u00a03 pm: A Season\u2019s Griot <\/strong>— A one-hour Kwanzaa celebration in story and song. This annual program captures the tales and traditions of African American and African peoples. This year\u2019s theme is Family.<\/p>\n

7 to 8 pm: Hanukkah Lights 2016<\/strong> — A perennial favorite from NPR with all new Hanukkah stories. Hosted by Susan Stamberg and Murray Horwitz.<\/strong><\/p>\n

New Year\u2019s Eve<\/strong><\/h2>\n

6 to 7 pm:<\/strong> A Shortcut through 2016.<\/strong> A fast-paced one-hour audio trip through the most notable sounds and voices of the year.<\/p>\n

7 to 8 pm: Capitol Steps, Politics Takes a Holiday. <\/strong>A send-up of 2016 in satire and song.<\/p>\n

8 pm to 1 am: New Year\u2019s Eve Party with NCPR<\/strong>: Dance goodbye to 2016 and ring in the new year with Radio Bob and Blue Note<\/em> host Ellen Rocco. They\u2019ll be playing their favorites and taking your calls and requests all evening. Or make your New Year\u2019s Eve requests now via email: ellen@ncpr.org<\/a> or radio@ncpr.org<\/a><\/p>\n

The music continues from 1 to 2 am<\/strong> with The Beat Authority Special Edition. <\/strong>David Sommerstein kicks in 2017 with plenty of dance beats and high style.<\/p>\n
