This annual program captures the tales and traditions of African American and African peoples. This year\u2019s theme is Family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7 to 8 pm: Hanukkah Lights 2016<\/strong> &#8212; A perennial favorite from NPR with all new Hanukkah stories. Hosted by <strong>Susan Stamberg and Murray Horwitz.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>New Year\u2019s Eve<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>6 to 7 pm:<\/strong> <strong>A Shortcut through 2016.<\/strong> A fast-paced one-hour audio trip through the most notable sounds and voices of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7 to 8 pm: Capitol Steps, Politics Takes a Holiday. <\/strong>A send-up of 2016 in satire and song.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8 pm to 1 am: New Year\u2019s Eve Party with NCPR<\/strong>: Dance goodbye to 2016 and ring in the new year with Radio Bob and <em>Blue Note<\/em> host Ellen Rocco. They\u2019ll be playing their favorites and taking your calls and requests all evening.
