It would be nice to be able to say as we once did that “The facts speak for themselves.” Sadly, if that was ever the case, it no longer seems to be. Amid the blizzard of disinformation, scientifically targeted “advertorials,” outright propaganda, deliberate falsifications and distortions in our newsfeeds and social media, how do you separate fact from chaff?<\/p>\n

\"\"Well, you need people who will fight for the facts, who will dig in, investigate, double-check, do the legwork, and who work together in an organization like NCPR that practices core values of integrity, consistency and even-handedness.<\/p>\n

While cranking out clickbait may be cheap, finding the facts takes resources, and this is the time of year when we ask you to help us<\/em> fight for the facts. If the facts no longer speak for themselves, someone needs to speak up for them. How about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

NCPR’s fall fundraiser launches Monday and gifts from individuals are our bread and butter. We couldn’t do what we do without you, and that’s a fact.<\/p>\n
