Along with this outstanding photo, Rod shared the following poem by his friend P. Hodges to accompany it.<\/p>\n

Monarchs We Know<\/h3>\n

Butterfly
\nBeauty in
\nEvery language,
\nSinging us through this day.
\nSky,
\nLit with colour that we saw
\nOn a grandmother’s
\nSmall tea cup,
\nOr in photos displayed on a
\nRadio that her mother
\nHad dusted before her.
\nFlashes of
\nUnanticipated joy,
\nFlutter by.
\nAlluring memories
\nBring us to
\nMoments already passed,
\nIn no time.
\nWe are dared to
\nTake flight with them,
\nFinding light above,
\nFinding light below.
\nSome of us
\nWatch from
\nChosen spots on ground,
\nWhere shade is happiness,
\nWhen quietness enlightens our way.
\nAll is well,
\nEven though we
\nCan’t explain our love,
\nEven though we
\nCan’t define our love.
\nEven though, we
\nAre
\nLove.
\nWe float with
\nHummingbird elusiveness,
\nAnd need the breeze of grace
\nTo catch us up to our sacred selves.
\nRefreshing souls
\nIn a caring
\nCircle of friends,
\nGathering stories,
\nWeaving strengths of all colours.
\nWhatever heights
\nWe reach,
\nHowever we get there…
\nWalking through
\nHot clouds of
\nHeavenly atmosphere,
\nOr laying way down,
\nWrapped safely in stars and
\nFirefly hope;
\nWe have wings, that
\nWe can dare to use.<\/p>\n
