Last year, we kept<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2219\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2219\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/2012\/06\/13\/for-the-birds\/turknest-004a-3\/\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2219\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2219 \" title=\"turknest-004A\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2012\/06\/turknest-004A2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2012\/06\/turknest-004A2.jpg 400w, https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/allin\/files\/2012\/06\/turknest-004A2-223x300.jpg 223w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2219\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Can&#39;t help thinking our Narragansett turkey hen&#39;s feathering would work better as camouflage among sand dunes and driftwood--and we&#39;re hoping there are eggs under her in addition to the one that&#39;s rolled out.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>a few turkeys after the fall sell off: a tom and four hens, hoping to hatch some of our own turkey chicks. Finally, one of the Narragansetts wandered down the road, settled in and has been on a nest for the past few weeks. I&#8217;ll let you know if we have any success. (By the way, these turkeys are now totally pets.)<\/p>\n<p>In case you&#8217;ve forgotten, Cornell is still tracking the great blue heron nest on live webcam. Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livestream.com\/cornellherons\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite bird is the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chickadee\">chickadee<\/a>: friendly and, most importantly, stays all winter.
