In the small mountain town of Lake Placid NY, veteran’s are honored on Veteran’s Day every year with a parade down Main Street and a ceremony at American Legion Post 326.\u00a0 In the ceremony,\u00a0three flags\u00a0that had flown there since Memorial Day in honor of three veterans,\u00a0were\u00a0raised from half staff and then lowered.\u00a0Each of the three flags were then presented to family members of the three veterans.<\/p>\n

American Legion Post 326 First Vice Commander Bob Marvin and Post Adjutant CPT Jordanna Malach fold the flag.<\/p><\/div>\n

This year, prior to the parade ceremony parade, American Legion Post 326 conducted three other flag ceremonies like the one at Post 326; one at the Adirondack Community Church, one at Adirondack Medical Center and one at Uihlein Mercy Center before gathering on Main Street to start the parade\u2026on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.<\/p>\n

\"Chris<\/a>

Chris Harmon receives the flag, which had flown at the Uihlein Mercy Center since Memorial Day when it was raised in honor of Chris’s uncle, Richard Bonsignore. Bonsignore served as a Commander in the US Navy during World War II. When the flag was raised, Richard’s sister was living at Uihlein. She passed away the following day.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob Ross, President of Homeward Bound Adirondacks and CEO of St Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center, was the guest speaker for the flag ceremony at American Legion Post 326.<\/p><\/div>\n
