A list of good lists

Comments Off on A list of good lists

I’m a big fan of Mann Booker nominees and winners. I use the National Book Award list, too. Here is a list, with links, of some of my favorite sources for worthwhile reading or gift-giving recommendations.

The NPR book page.

The Man Booker 2012 winner, short list and long list.

The National Book Foundation Awards 2012, including links to interviews. And here’s the list, by genre, of all winners going back to 1950.

The Pulitzer Prize list 2012.

The New York Times Notable Books for 2012.

From The Independent Booksellers Association, these specialized lists: children’s series; paperback fiction (ranges from literary award-winners to bodice-rippers); paperback nonfiction.

I chose The Book of Lists for the image because I LOVE this collection of lists. What is it about lists? Here’s a link to the Amazon page showing a segment of the Table of Contents, for lists like “10 Men Who Cried in Public,” or “10 Famous Noses,” or “10 People With the Most Square Miles of the Earth’s Surface Named After Them.” I mean, how can you resist?
