Family from Malone visits Washington during shooting crisis

NPR’s Andrea Seabrook took the pulse on Capitol Hill for this morning’s news, following the shootings in Tucson.

As she talked to visitors and congressional staff members, she also checked in with the family of Teresa Cuomo Smith from Malone, who were visiting the capital.

“We were able to sign the condolence book,” Cuomo Smith told NPR.  “I said that I hoped that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, would bring peace to the victims’ families, to our country, and to the world.”

According to the staff of Democratic Rep. Bill Owens’, the family also visited his office during their trip to Washington.
