DailyKos is one of the most widely-read websites on the left and it has given Plattsburgh Democrat Bill Owens a pretty resounding thumbs-down.<\/p>\n

The site praises Republican Dede<\/a> Scozzafava’s “social liberalism” and says that she “appears to be the most palatable option, but even she doesn’t look any good beyond the social issues.<\/p>\n

On Owens:<\/p>\n

Owens isn’t a registered Democrat, he’s an independent. He’s anti-gay marriage (because of “religious issues”), and also opposes the public option for health care. (He is, at least, reportedly pro-choice.)<\/p>\n

So if you’re keeping score, the two candidates are exactly the same, except that Owens isn’t a member of his own party and opposes marriage equality. Yup, on the issues, Owens is actually to the right<\/strong> of Scozzafava.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
