{"id":1031,"date":"2009-09-03T14:55:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-03T18:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/09\/03\/liberal-dailykos-website-pans-democrat-owens\/"},"modified":"2009-09-03T14:55:00","modified_gmt":"2009-09-03T18:55:00","slug":"liberal-dailykos-website-pans-democrat-owens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/09\/03\/liberal-dailykos-website-pans-democrat-owens\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberal DailyKos website pans Democrat Owens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATED:  With link&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>DailyKos is one of the most widely-read websites on the left and it has given Plattsburgh Democrat Bill Owens a pretty resounding thumbs-down.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/storyonly\/2009\/9\/3\/775729\/-NY-23:-Forget-about-party-labels\">site praises Republican Dede<\/a> Scozzafava&#8217;s &#8220;social liberalism&#8221; and says that she &#8220;appears to be the most palatable option, but even she doesn&#8217;t look any good beyond the social issues.<\/p>\n<p>On Owens:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Owens isn&#8217;t a registered Democrat, he&#8217;s an independent. He&#8217;s anti-gay marriage (because of &#8220;religious issues&#8221;), and also opposes the public option for health care. (He is, at least, reportedly pro-choice.)<\/p>\n<p>So if you&#8217;re keeping score, the two candidates are exactly the same, except that Owens isn&#8217;t a member of his own party and opposes marriage equality.
