{"id":1059,"date":"2009-09-16T08:03:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-16T12:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/09\/16\/on-rebuking-joe-wilson-north-country-divided\/"},"modified":"2009-09-16T08:03:00","modified_gmt":"2009-09-16T12:03:00","slug":"on-rebuking-joe-wilson-north-country-divided","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/09\/16\/on-rebuking-joe-wilson-north-country-divided\/","title":{"rendered":"On rebuking Joe Wilson, North Country divided"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s an interesting footnote to yesterday&#8217;s House rebuke of Joe Wilson, the South Carolina congressman who shouted &#8220;You lie!&#8221; during President Barack Obama&#8217;s address to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The North Country has three congressmen:  John McHugh, Scott Murphy and Mike Arcuri (whose 24th House district stretches up into the western Adirondacks).<\/p>\n<p>McHugh &#8212; a Republican who awaits confirmation as Army Secretary &#8212; didn&#8217;t vote. <\/p>\n<p>Murphy &#8212; a Democrat elected last spring in a special election &#8212; voted Yes on the reprimand.<\/p>\n<p>Arcuri &#8212; a Democrat who squeaked by on his re-election in 2008 &#8212; voted No. <\/p>\n<p>In a surprising twist, four New York Democrats voted against the rebuke:  Arcuri, Rep. Maurice Hinchey, Rep. Dan Maffei, and Rep.
