{"id":1204,"date":"2009-10-29T09:46:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-29T13:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/10\/29\/hoffman-camp-explains-absence-from-debate\/"},"modified":"2009-10-29T09:46:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-29T13:46:00","slug":"hoffman-camp-explains-absence-from-debate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/10\/29\/hoffman-camp-explains-absence-from-debate\/","title":{"rendered":"Hoffman camp explains absence from debate"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"html-message\">\n<div class=\"Section1\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;font-size:85%\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Arial\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pressrepublican.com\/0100_news\/local_story_301225609.html\">Plattsburgh Press-Republican<\/a> reported this morning that Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman sat out last night&#8217;s forum at SUNY Plattsburgh because of public radio&#8217;s involvement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span><span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But Rob Ryan, Hoffman&#8217;s campaign spokesman, made comments to the Press-Republican about 30 minutes before the event that suggested North Country Public Radio&#8217;s involvement was the reason Hoffman did not attend.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;North Country Public Radio is the perfect venue to decide who is the most liberal candidate in the race,&#8221; Ryan said, adding that Hoffman would participate in a televised debate in Syracuse today.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span><span>In an email to NCPR today, Ryan disputed this account.
