{"id":133,"date":"2008-10-12T08:59:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-12T12:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2008\/10\/12\/another-sunday-brings-silence-on-gillibrand-treadwell\/"},"modified":"2008-10-12T08:59:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-12T12:59:00","slug":"another-sunday-brings-silence-on-gillibrand-treadwell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2008\/10\/12\/another-sunday-brings-silence-on-gillibrand-treadwell\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Sunday brings silence on Gillibrand-Treadwell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scanning the region&#8217;s newspapers, I find almost nothing on this Sunday morning about the Treadwell-Gillibrand race.<\/p>\n<p>The 20th CD battle has been expensive, but all the dollars spent have generated very little heat.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of excitement would seem to be an advantage for incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand, but without poll numbers it&#8217;s hard to know.<\/p>\n<p>Republican challenger Sandy Treadwell is running in a district with a huge GOP advantage in terms of voter enrollment.<\/p>\n<p>Could he be slowly building a &#8220;silent majority&#8221; for a November surprise? <\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s certain is that Gillibrand and her party&#8217;s leaders are taking Treadwell seriously. <\/p>\n<p>I received a glossy mailing, paid for by the Democratic Party, last week supporting her bid for a second term.<\/p>\n<p>The two are preparing to square off in a series of three debates over the next couple of weeks.
