Then America&#8217;s suburbs blue-shifted into the Democratic column.<\/p>\n<p>Now the Washington Post is reporting on Democratic inroads into the &#8220;exurbs&#8221; &#8212; those rural-like outer-ring bastions of conservatism that fueled the Bush revolution.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a key passage from the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> In 2004, Democratic <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.washingtonpost.com\/congress\/members\/k000148\/\" target=\"\">Sen. John F. Kerry<\/a> managed to narrowly win Fairfax County, the largest suburb in Northern Virginia, but Bush still carried fast-growing Prince William and Loudoun on his way to an eight-point victory. But over the next two years, [Democratic] Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.washingtonpost.com\/congress\/members\/w000803\/\" target=\"\">Sen.
