{"id":1598,"date":"2010-02-12T11:53:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-12T15:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/02\/12\/did-ncpr-misquote-essex-farmer-sandy-lewis\/"},"modified":"2010-02-12T11:53:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-12T15:53:00","slug":"did-ncpr-misquote-essex-farmer-sandy-lewis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/02\/12\/did-ncpr-misquote-essex-farmer-sandy-lewis\/","title":{"rendered":"Did NCPR misquote Essex farmer Sandy Lewis?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Essex farmer and former Wall Street executive Sandy Lewis appeared again this morning on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talk1300.com\/\">Fred Dicker&#8217;s Albany radio show<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>For the second time, he complained to Dicker that NCPR has covered his court case with the Adirondack Park Agency inaccurately.  <\/p>\n<p>This time, Lewis cited a specific factual concern, arguing that I quoted him out of context in talking about acts of incest among his neighbors in Essex County.<\/p>\n<p>Here, for the record, is his full quote, recorded in 2008.  You can hear it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northcountrypublicradio.org\/news\/story\/11532\/a-farmer-s-legal-feud-with-the-apa-could-set-new-rules-for-agriculture-in-the-adirondack-park\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not crazy about the number one health issue in this community.  Sit tight folks.  Incest.  Number one problem brought to that place for that help.  Incest.  I was flabbergasted.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>  Mr. Lewis argues that he was referring to information he had received from one treatment center in Essex County.  <\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t comment on where Lewis&#8217;s information came from, or how he formulated his views.
