{"id":1604,"date":"2010-02-14T16:36:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-14T20:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/02\/14\/will-2010-begin-with-more-gridlock-in-the-ny-senate\/"},"modified":"2010-02-14T16:36:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-14T20:36:00","slug":"will-2010-begin-with-more-gridlock-in-the-ny-senate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/02\/14\/will-2010-begin-with-more-gridlock-in-the-ny-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"Will 2010 begin with more gridlock in the NY Senate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mike Virtanen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pressrepublican.com\/midday\/local_story_045143217.html\">at the Associated Press<\/a> has a great story out exploring how the eviction of Hiram Monserrate from the New York state Senate could affect deliberations there.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re heading into a brutal political season:  it&#8217;s election time, Republicans and Democrats are nearly equal in number, and there are looming problems that just can&#8217;t wait.<\/p>\n<p>Top all that off with a politically frail Governor David Paterson and you&#8217;ve got a formula for <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The one thing Republicans and most Democrats agreed on was that Sen. Hiram Monserrate had to go, voting 53-8 last week to expel him.
