{"id":1866,"date":"2010-04-20T03:34:00","date_gmt":"2010-04-20T07:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/04\/20\/another-three-way-race-in-ny-23\/"},"modified":"2010-04-20T03:34:00","modified_gmt":"2010-04-20T07:34:00","slug":"another-three-way-race-in-ny-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/04\/20\/another-three-way-race-in-ny-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Another three-way race in NY-23?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Democrats are gleefully circulating an article written this week by the Syracuse Post-Standard that predicts another divisive battle between Conservatives and Republicans in the North Country.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, that would benefit Democrat Bill Owens, who squeaked by in a special election win, edging Conservative Doug Hoffman.<\/p>\n<p>Hoffman, who pushed Republican Dede Scozzafava out of the race, is refusing to commit to backing the eventual GOP nominee.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.syracuse.com\/news\/index.ssf\/2010\/04\/race_for_23rd_district_congres.html\">according to the Post-Standard<\/a>, he&#8217;s also failing to wow Republican Party leaders in the region &#8212; losing that support to Watertown businessman Matt Doheny. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Doheny, a political newcomer, picked up the endorsement of the Oneida County Republican Committee and the backing of Republican chairs in Jefferson, Clinton and Essex counties.
