Consider David Sommerstein&#8217;s original &#8220;Year 0n the Farm&#8221; series for NCPR <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northcountrypublicradio.org\/news\/pages\/series-a-year-on-the-farm\">back in 2006<\/a>, his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northcountrypublicradio.org\/news\/tags\/yotf14\">new one in 2014<\/a>, and its accompanying <a href=\"http:\/\/yearonthefarm.tumblr.com\">Tumblr blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Campbell family farm is between London and Windsor, which is between the even-bigger cities of Toronto and Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>Not so close to NCPR country. But the life they live will seem familiar to many ag families across the northeast.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/lifestyle\/ont-farmer-hopes-to-teach-what-life-is-like-in-agriculture-by-tweeting-everyday-1.2168242\">\u00a0third-generation farm<\/a>. Campbell, with his wife and parents, take care of 50 cows on 200 hectares (500 acres) of cropland and pasture. They produce, corn, soy, wheat, hay and milk.<\/p>\n<p>And what should he tweet for the first photo of 2015? Some suggested he start with the alarm clock, set for 4:45 each and every morning. As\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/windsor\/ontario-farmer-to-tweet-a-farm-photo-every-day-in-2015-1.2886621\">reported by CBC<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Campbell has New Year\u2019s Eve\u00a0plans, so he thinks the alarm clock has potential.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA short sleep on New Year\u2019s Eve is always part of the fun,\u201d said Campbell.<\/p>\n<p>Others have asked for a baby New Year type picture of a calf, which may be possible. Campbell has two pregnant cows, ready to give birth any day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be an awesome, but what are the odds the baby arrives on that day?\u201d he asked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, wouldn&#8217;t you know it? At 1:40 am the Campbells got\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FreshAirFarmer\/status\/550547780373348352\">a New Year&#8217;s calf<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When the CBC story came out on Dec 31 he had almost 7,000 followers.
