She dropped out after many of her fellow Republicans supported <\/span>Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman.<\/p>\n<p>She shocked many on the Right last year by endorsing Democrat Bill Owens, who went on to win the seat&#8211;the first Democrat to do since the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, some Republicans vowed to challenge Scozzafava in a primary for her seat.
