{"id":1945,"date":"2010-04-28T16:07:11","date_gmt":"2010-04-28T20:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=1945"},"modified":"2010-04-28T16:07:47","modified_gmt":"2010-04-28T20:07:47","slug":"washington-saratoga-warren-hamilton-essex-boces-will-lay-off-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/04\/28\/washington-saratoga-warren-hamilton-essex-boces-will-lay-off-40\/","title":{"rendered":"Washington Saratoga Warren Hamilton Essex BOCES will lay off 40"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poststar.com\/news\/local\/article_929a362e-52fe-11df-a5b4-001cc4c002e0.html\">Glens Falls Post-Star<\/a> is reporting that one of the major regional BOCES chapters will slash 40 jobs, following a budget cut of nearly a million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>BOCES provides educational and support services to school districts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Terry Blanchfield, chief operating officer of BOCES, said local superintendents told BOCES they were going to need fewer programs in 2010-11.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They indicated to us to expect a reduction in programs and services,&#8221; Blanchfield said. &#8220;We then created a budget by divisions with their guidance.
