{"id":2001,"date":"2010-04-30T10:41:01","date_gmt":"2010-04-30T14:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2001"},"modified":"2010-04-30T10:41:01","modified_gmt":"2010-04-30T14:41:01","slug":"campus-newspaper-examines-animal-testing-at-plattsburgh-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/04\/30\/campus-newspaper-examines-animal-testing-at-plattsburgh-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Campus newspaper examines animal testing at Plattsburgh State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardinalpointsonline.com\/news\/campus-research-ends-in-death-of-chinchillas-1.2256267\">Cardinal Points Online newspaper is running an interesting article<\/a> and editorial that examine animal testing at Plattsburgh State.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Director  of Sponsored Research and Programs Michael Simpson said this type of  testing started in the mid-1980s and that PSUC is one of the only places  where it is conducted.<\/p>\n<p>He  said the experiments are governmentally funded through the National  Institute of Health.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Simpson said the  Occupational Safety and Health Administration\u2019s hearing standards for  industrial-like factories adhere to Gaussian noise levels, which are  steady streams of noise.
