If Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand walks away from Sandy Treadwell &#8212; despite his $5+million investment &#8212; then it would be official.  <\/p>\n<p>The region would be purple, trending toward light blue.  <\/p>\n<p>Question Two:  Which North Country state Senator is in the majority in Albany?<\/p>\n<p>Right now, Republican Senator Betty Little is a major player in Albany &#8212; after suffering for years as an Assemblywoman in the minority.  <\/p>\n<p>Democratic Senator Darrel Aubertine, meanwhile, has complained recently about his mistreatment at the hands of majority Republican leaders.  <\/p>\n<p>If control of the Senate flips, these two lawmakers also see their fortunes flip.  <\/p>\n<p>Little&#8217;s influence &#8212; already diminished somewhat by the departure of George Pataki &#8212; will take a big hit.
