{"id":2181,"date":"2010-05-31T22:05:18","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T02:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2181"},"modified":"2011-06-17T10:12:25","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T14:12:25","slug":"is-the-debate-over-the-normalcy-of-gayness-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/05\/31\/is-the-debate-over-the-normalcy-of-gayness-over\/","title":{"rendered":"Is the debate over the normalcy of gayness &#8220;over&#8221;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On ABC&#8217;s This Week, the two Republican-conservative pundits &#8212; former Bush advisor Matthew Dowd and columnist George Will &#8212; declared that the debate over allowing gays in the military is &#8220;over.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p><object width=\"225\" height=\"144\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/guZNTET6rwU&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/guZNTET6rwU&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They go to high school with kids who are openly gay,&#8221; Dowd said.  &#8220;They socialize with kids who are openly gay.  And all of a sudden they go into the armed services and somebody hands them a rifle and they&#8217;re not supposed to be around gay people anymore?  It doesn&#8217;t make any sense.
