{"id":2307,"date":"2010-06-29T21:35:37","date_gmt":"2010-06-30T01:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2307"},"modified":"2010-06-30T10:53:32","modified_gmt":"2010-06-30T14:53:32","slug":"in-box-summer-sci-fi-short-film-festival-continues-panic-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/06\/29\/in-box-summer-sci-fi-short-film-festival-continues-panic-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"In Box Summer Sci-Fi SHORT film festival continues:  Panic Attack!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A lot of summer blockbusters take kind of a fun, adolescent idea &#8212; giant robots! &#8212; and insist on stretching it out over two mind-numbing hours.<\/p>\n<p>Explosion #48 is usually about 45 too many explosions, even for a sci-fi fan like me.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why I love Panic Attack, a story about &#8212; yeah, okay, you guessed it &#8212; giant robots.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The whole experience takes less than five minutes, and according to the director &#8212; a Uruguayan named Fede Alvarez &#8212; it cost about 300 bucks to make.<\/p>\n<p>Take that, Jerry Bruckheimer!<\/p>\n<p>And did I mention&#8230;giant robots?<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"480\" height=\"291\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/-dadPWhEhVk&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/-dadPWhEhVk&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"480\" height=\"291\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Coming tomorrow, the Sci-Fi film festival continues with a Canadian film about a man hounded to death by a nightmarish stone golem.
