Owens wins more Republican praise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, we reported that Plattsburgh&#8217;s Republican Mayor Don Kasprzak was lavishing praise on Democratic Rep. Bill Owens &#8212; who will need GOP votes to win a full first term in New York&#8217;s 23rd congressional district.<\/p>\n<p>Now, another local Republican is endorsing Owens&#8217; re-election bid.<\/p>\n<p>Moriah Supervisor Tom Scozzafava told <a href=\"http:\/\/wnbz.com\/July%202010\/070810\/ScozzafavaBacksOwens.htm\">WNBZ news<\/a> yesterday that he is &#8220;impressed with Owens\u2019s performance since he was elected to the seat in a special election last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe does the job. And not only does he do the job, but it\u2019s direct personal contact and I appreciate that.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a reflection on the other two candidates, but I\u2019m supporting Bill Owens&#8230;I learned early on, I am a Republican and I do believe in Republican policies \u2013 although I think the party has strayed off to one direction a bit.\u00a0 But partisan politics are a huge problem right now, not only in Albany, but nationally.
