{"id":2541,"date":"2010-08-26T09:13:17","date_gmt":"2010-08-26T13:13:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2541"},"modified":"2010-09-01T13:43:59","modified_gmt":"2010-09-01T17:43:59","slug":"ny20-murphy-gibson-race-steps-out-of-shadows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/08\/26\/ny20-murphy-gibson-race-steps-out-of-shadows\/","title":{"rendered":"NY20: Murphy-Gibson race steps out of shadows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Across much of the North Country, the NY-20 race between Glens Falls Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican challenger Chris Gibson has been eclipsed by the intra-party GOP dust-up in NY-23.<\/p>\n<p>But tonight in Glens Falls, Murphy and Gibson will step into the spotlight, facing off in their first debate at the Hyde Museum, sponsored by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Organization.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s Nate Brown&#8217;s write-up in the <a href=\"http:\/\/adirondackdailyenterprise.com\/page\/content.detail\/id\/515016.html?nav=5008\">Adirondack Daily Enterprise<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The forum will not be open to the public,  according to the group&#8217;s website, but the media will be invited to cover  it. The Young Professionals in the audience will supply the questions.<\/p>\n<p>The group characterizes it on its website as &#8220;opportunity for the  candidates to share their platform with the Young Business Leaders from  Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties&#8221; and says it is  &#8220;designed for the candidates to address the issues important to this  demographic.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The debate, from 6-7 pm, will apparently be posted on-line.
