{"id":2817,"date":"2010-09-27T10:07:37","date_gmt":"2010-09-27T14:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2817"},"modified":"2010-09-27T10:54:57","modified_gmt":"2010-09-27T14:54:57","slug":"in-northeast-independents-angry-at-democrats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/09\/27\/in-northeast-independents-angry-at-democrats\/","title":{"rendered":"In Northeast, independents angry at Democrats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s an interesting nugget from last week&#8217;s detailed <a href=\"http:\/\/people-press.org\/reports\/pdf\/658.pdf\">Pew Survey<\/a>:\u00a0 Democrats are actually doing worse among independent voters in the Northeast than\u00a0 in the Midwest or Western districts.<\/p>\n<p>Likely independent voters in this part of the US favor the GOP by a whopping 12-point margin with just over a month before the midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>Pundits such as EJ Dionne have suggested that the Northeast will be the Republican Party&#8217;s &#8220;Achilles heel&#8221; as conservatives fight to retake the House.<\/p>\n<p>This from Dionne&#8217;s latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/09\/26\/AR2010092603333.html\">WaPo column<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;When we do retain the majority,&#8221; said Rep.
