{"id":2916,"date":"2010-10-11T07:31:10","date_gmt":"2010-10-11T11:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=2916"},"modified":"2010-10-11T09:33:39","modified_gmt":"2010-10-11T13:33:39","slug":"morning-read-creationism-offered-as-science-in-canton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2010\/10\/11\/morning-read-creationism-offered-as-science-in-canton\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning Read: Creationism offered as science in Canton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.watertowndailytimes.com\/article\/20101011\/NEWS05\/310119968\">Watertown Daily Times<\/a> reports on the sermon preached over the weekend in Canton by noted Creatioism advocate Jonathan Sarfati.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;You can&#8217;t compromise on Genesis,&#8221; Mr. Sarfati told his audience.  &#8220;It&#8217;s like having an instruction manual where the first page is torn  out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Sarfati, and his group, Creation Ministries  International, believes that the creation of the universe as described  in Genesis is literal fact \u2014 God created the world and all its  inhabitants in six days \u2014 and that evolution is impossible.<\/p>\n<p>A  slew of PowerPoint slides helped him make his point Sunday morning.  Fossil records, he said, are proof of a great flood, as described in the  story of Noah and his ark in Genesis.
