{"id":3541,"date":"2011-01-11T19:01:41","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T00:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=3541"},"modified":"2011-01-12T09:32:16","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T14:32:16","slug":"ritchie-handed-ag-committee-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2011\/01\/11\/ritchie-handed-ag-committee-chair\/","title":{"rendered":"Ritchie handed Ag committee chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second consecutive session, the Senator of the 48th State Senate district will chair that chamber&#8217;s agriculture committee.\u00a0 But this time it&#8217;s not Cape Vincent farmer Darrel Aubertine.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the St. Lawrence County clerk who defeated him.\u00a0 Republican Patty Ritchie was born on a family farm, she says, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/press-release\/ritchie-named-chair-agriculture-committee\">in a press release about the appointment<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Farming helped build Upstate, and can help revive our Upstate economy  today. New York&#8217;s farmers are among the most innovative and resourceful  in the nation.
