{"id":3733,"date":"2011-02-09T11:53:49","date_gmt":"2011-02-09T16:53:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=3733"},"modified":"2011-02-09T13:25:36","modified_gmt":"2011-02-09T18:25:36","slug":"another-local-cooking-event-casualty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2011\/02\/09\/another-local-cooking-event-casualty\/","title":{"rendered":"Another local cooking event casualty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Watertown Daily Times is reporting this morning that Canton is canceling its 18th annual chili cook-off because it couldn&#8217;t comply with state health department regulations.\u00a0 Organizer Paul Mitchell told the paper:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I told her all the chili was made off-site and brought in to the VFW,  and I was told they had a problem with that,&#8221; said Mr. Mitchell, who is  editor of the St. Lawrence Plaindealer. &#8220;In the early years of the  cook-off we never worried about interference from the state Health  Department.
