But take it in the broad sense. Here in South Canton, it&#8217;s a lovely morning. The sun is coming up through the woods, back-lighting the pale green maple blossoms, the phoebe is hollering and the daffodils are happy. Here are some of my plans for the day..we got a head start at the greenhouse yesterday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Waters are stabilizing, generally going down from the record high levels we saw as the work week closed.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adirondackdailyenterprise.com\/page\/content.detail\/id\/524353\/Biggest-flood-ever-.html?nav=5008\">Adirondack Daily Enterprise <\/a>speculates on whether this was the worst flood ever, or not.<\/p>\n<p>There are ups and downs still around Plattsburgh, The <a href=\"http:\/\/pressrepublican.com\/0100_news\/x1859508180\/City-flooding-continues-as-region-copes-with-damage\">Press Republican <\/a>reports &#8211;worse in some areas, better in others, with more evacuations, pets included, yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a great slideshow and a story on winners and losers in the in the natural world from the floooding in this morning&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burlingtonfreepress.com\/article\/20110508\/GREEN01\/105080305\/Lake-Champlain-s-high-waters-rife-winners-losers?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE\">Burlington Free Press.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lots more flood reporting, from various angles, in all these papers. Meanwhile, a weird drop in the Sacandaga reservoir is prompting warnings of high water downstream in the Hudson, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/poststar.com\/news\/local\/article_4a4285d6-7916-11e0-b483-001cc4c002e0.html\">Glens Falls Post Star.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.watertowndailytimes.com\/\">Waterrtown Daily Times<\/a> is polling readers on what to do about undocumented farm workers: guest worker permits? raid the farms? or cut unemployment drastically to force more Americans back into those jobs?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy\u00a0 Mother&#8217;s Day, fellow-mothers.
