Really?  Having Samuel &#8220;Joe the plumber&#8221; Wurzelbacher address your gathering?  <\/p>\n<p>And having him in to talk about the President&#8217;s stimulus package?<\/p>\n<p>According to Politico, a staff-member of Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) sent an email to members of Congress, gushing, &#8220;In case you weren\u2019t planning to attend&#8230;you might want to reconsider because Joe the Plumber will be joining us!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GOP is mostly mum about what Wurzelbacher said.  But Politico reports that Wurzelbacher advised Republican congressional leaders to &#8220;go in there and kick some ass.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ah, statesmanship.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He\u2019s an interesting person for staffers to hear from,&#8221; one conservative told Politico, &#8220;and it certainly helps us get an understanding about how the stimulus debate is playing out in the country with regular folks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sigh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>C&#8217;mon, Republicans.
